Why wont the Catholic Church talk about ghosts or spirits?

So a friend of mine asked a priest once about Ouji and he said not to play it, and didnt give an explanation. The Church doesnt deny their existance, but doesnt confirm it either but I dont know, they just say it is not something they talk about and it is of no importance. Well, it IS. How can this NOT have to do with the Church? It has to do with our beliefs about Heaven, hell and purgatory so wtf? Im confusssedd!!
