Whats that movie about being in purgatory?

There's this sundance film festival movie that is about this guy and he's dead, he's in purgatory and in this purgatory it's just like the real world accept ironically annoying. He's a roommate with a guy and they take a road trip because he (the main character believes his girlfriend just died and he wants to go find her somewhere in this purgatory) They're taking a road trip and he drops the tapes under the passengers seat and his roommate says you can forget about those, anything that goes under that seat disappears forever. Later on they go one to talk about how they died I guess the purgatory is for suicides only. His roommate says he killed himself at a concert he was playing and pour beer on himself and electricuted himself with his guitar. Its a comedy romance. Does anyone know the name of this movie.
