Tickets are cheaper after 9.30 a.m. Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. They also tend to be cheaper if you buy them before the day you are travelling, and also if you commit to only travelling on particular trains (but both the journeys you are planning are comparatively short, so savings will not be very large).
